Research Interests
I find great joy in trying to understand why and explain how spiral galaxies evolve through internal, secular processes. In this endeavor, I typically use analytical methods and modeling to connect fundamental physics and physical processes to trends in simulated and observed data. The following is a selected list of my interests:
-
Dynamics of disks and clusters
-
Galaxy evolution
-
Disk galaxy structure
-
Dynamical resonances
-
Chaotic orbits
-
Radial migration
-
Nature of spiral structure
-
Spiral formation and disruption
-
Chemical evolution
